“Should we bring back the death penalty to the UK?”
I was honoured to be invited along to Auchenharvie Academy on Monday 5 February 2018 to mentor some of their 3rd year pupils from the Modern Studies and RMPS department alongside my colleague Pamela Bradshaw. Our role was to assist the pupils to produce a response to the question “Should we bring back the death penalty to the UK?”
During the morning the pupils were split into groups of approximately 6 pupils and allocated a mentor to work with for the day. They then researched the topic and arrived at a group decision following careful evaluation of the evidence and relevant viewpoints from various primary sources. The students thereafter prepared a poster setting out their views and presented their findings by giving a 3 minute presentation to their peers and panel of judges.
The day was a resounding success and we at Jackson Boyd were very impressed with the level of cooperation, quality of investigation, analysis and execution of the Pupils views.
