Abby Mackay

Paralegal

Abby Mackay is a Paralegal and part of our Dispute Resolution team, supporting clients across a range of legal matters including housing disputes, employment issues, and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) cases.

Before joining the firm, Abby gained four years of valuable experience with the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic, where she worked closely with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds, helping them navigate often complex and challenging legal issues. This experience helped develop her practical legal skills while reinforcing the importance of clear communication, empathy, and client care.

Abby graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a First-Class Honours, LLB and is currently studying the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP), continuing her development towards a career in law.

Known for being empathetic, organised, and dedicated, Abby takes a client-centred approach to her work. She believes that building strong relationships and understanding each client’s individual circumstances are essential to providing effective support. By taking the time to listen and connect with clients, she aims to make the legal process as approachable and reassuring as possible.

What Abby enjoys most about her role is meeting people from all walks of life and helping them find solutions to their legal challenges. She finds it rewarding to play a part in achieving positive outcomes and supporting clients through important moments in their lives.

Outside of work, Abby has a passion for music and enjoys playing both the piano and the cello.
