Jackson Buoys – Channel Swim

Ever hear the joke ‘what do you call a group of lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start.
Well, we’re flipping that joke around.

What do you call two legal claim handlers and two lawyers swimming the length of the Channel? A good cause.

Jackson Boyd Lawyers regularly deal with injuries affecting our clients’ backs and necks, so we understand how debilitating spinal injuries can be. This is why we are incredibly excited to support Aspire, the UK’s spinal cord injury, with their Channel Swim Challenge 2017.

Over the next couple of months, our firm will be fundraising as four of our colleagues will float like a butterfly and swim like a waterproof bee. Our team, Jackson Buoys, consists of Emma Smith, Becky Laurie, Kirsty Watson and Drew McCusker, each of whom will swim the distance of the English Channel – i.e. 22 miles, i.e. 1,416 lengths of your average swimming pool – to raise £1,200 for Aspire.

Aspire offers practical support to the 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so that they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and in leisure time.

We’ve got the goggles, we’ve got the pool passes, and we’ve got a playlist to keep us pumped!
