Looking Back on a Fantastic Year – and Introducing Our New Charity Partner

Giving back has always been an important part of life at the firm, and over the past year we’ve continued to support our community and charity partners through a wide range of initiatives. From fundraising and volunteering to education and wellbeing activity, 2025/26 was another busy and rewarding year for our CSR programme.

A Year in Review

Throughout the 2025/26 financial year, our main charity partner was Marie Curie UK, and we’re proud of what was achieved over the course of the year. Through a programme of fundraising events and volunteering opportunities, the firm raised over £3,200 for Marie Curie.

Key highlights included bake sales, themed and dress‑down days, Festive Fun Week, a charity sports day at Glasgow Green and our annual participation in the Kiltwalk. We also supported Marie Curie at external events, including volunteering at the Marie Curie Ladies Lunch, and welcomed charity representatives into the office to learn more about the impact of their work.

Alongside fundraising, we continued to prioritise education, early careers development and wellbeing. Colleagues supported school careers events, delivered CV and interview workshops, judged debates and offered work experience and Work Based Learning placements to pupils and students interested in legal careers. Wellbeing initiatives such as Bring Your Dog to Work Day and the Step Count Challenge remained part of the programme, supporting healthy habits across the firm.

One of the standout moments of the year was taking part in Project Present, with over 80 Christmas gifts donated to support vulnerable children and young people across the Glasgow area – providing practical help and making a difference during the festive period.

“Our aim is to ensure our CSR activity is purposeful and has a genuine impact. Over the past year, we’ve continued to support our charity partners and local community through a range of initiatives, and we’re excited to begin our next chapter working with CHAS throughout the 2026/27 financial year.” Ainsley McCabe, CSR Co-Chair

How We Chose Our New Charity Partner

Each year, colleagues are invited to nominate charities for consideration, with our new partner selected through a firm‑wide vote. This approach helps ensure our CSR activity remains grounded in causes that align with our values and allows us to focus our efforts in a meaningful way.

Following this year’s nominations and vote, we’re delighted to announce CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) as our charity partner for the 2026/27 financial year. CHAS provides vital care and support to children with life‑shortening conditions and their families across Scotland, and we’re looking forward to supporting their work over the coming year.

By working with a single charity partner, we can focus our fundraising and volunteering activity and build a strong, collaborative relationship.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the 2026/27 financial year, we’re excited to begin working with CHAS and to continue delivering a thoughtful and sustainable CSR programme alongside our wider community and education initiatives.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the past year, whether through fundraising, volunteering, mentoring or organising events. We’re looking forward to the year ahead and to working together with our new charity partner.
