Job Vacancy – Claims Negotiator (RTA Personal Injury)

  • Hours: Full time (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with one hour lunch break)
  • Hybrid Working: 2 days in office / 3 days at home (full time in office during training)

Description of Role

We are currently seeking a Claims Negotiator to join our Road Traffic Personal Injury Team in Glasgow.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of RTA personal injury claims, handling matters from initial instruction through to settlement. This role offers the opportunity to develop strong claims handling, negotiation and client-care skills, with appropriate training and support provided.

You will join a supportive and collaborative team, with clear opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the firm.

Key Accountabilities

Under appropriate supervision, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage a caseload of RTA personal injury claims
  • Effectively utilise the firm’s case management systems
  • Manage all claims correspondence efficiently
  • Establish liability and indemnity on allocated claims
  • Negotiate claims to conclusion
  • Maintain accurate diary and case management control

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required

  • At least two years’ experience dealing with road traffic accident claims
  • Previous experience of issuing proceedings in RTA cases would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence colleagues
  • Good IT skills and ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
