The Role
We are currently seeking a Solicitor to join our EL/PL and Medical Negligence Team in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will primarily work on a varied caseload of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability personal injury claims, arising from a wide range of workplace accidents and public liability incidents. The role will also provide some exposure to medical negligence claims, offering broader experience of complex personal injury litigation.
This opportunity would suit an NQ or junior solicitor (up to 3 years’ PQE) with an interest in personal injury litigation who is keen to build strong technical, drafting and client‑care skills within a supportive and collaborative team environment. There is clear scope for development and career progression within the team, with increasing responsibility and technical exposure as experience grows.

Key Responsibilities
Under supervision appropriate to experience, the successful candidate will:
- Manage a caseload of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability personal injury claims
- Deal with claims arising from workplace accidents, slips, trips and falls, manual handling accidents, equipment‑related injuries, and a range of public liability claims involving accidents in public places
- Assist with investigation and progression of complex cases and medical negligence claims
- Draft legal pleadings, correspondence and court documentation
- Raise and progress court actions
- Conduct settlement negotiations
- Develop strong client service and communication skills, building and maintaining client relationships
- Work with senior colleagues on more complex or higher‑value matters
- Keep up to date with developments in personal injury and medical negligence law and firm‑wide services
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified solicitor (including NQ) with up to 3 years’ PQE
- Interest in personal injury litigation, particularly EL/PL work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good drafting and organisational skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively
- Proactive, motivated and keen to develop technical expertise
- High level of IT proficiency and ability to use online legal resources
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Commitment to providing a high standard of client care
