The Role
We are currently seeking a Solicitor to join our Road Traffic Personal Injury Team in Glasgow. We will also consider second‑year trainee solicitors looking to assign the remainder of their traineeship.
The successful candidate will be involved in handling a varied caseload of road traffic accident personal injury claims, covering a broad range of injury types and liability disputes. The role offers strong exposure to litigation‑based personal injury work, with opportunities to draft, raise and progress court actions through to resolution, all with appropriate supervision and support.
This opportunity would suit an NQ or junior solicitor (up to 3 years’ PQE), or a second‑year trainee, who is keen to develop their litigation, advocacy and client‑care skills within a supportive and collaborative team environment. There is clear scope for development and career progression within the team, with responsibility increasing as experience and confidence grows.

Key Responsibilities
Under supervision appropriate to experience, the successful candidate will:
- Manage a caseload of road traffic accident personal injury claims
- Deal with claims involving a range of injuries and liability disputes
- Draft, raise and progress court actions through the Sheriff Court
- Assist with and conduct settlement negotiations
- Appear at a range of court hearings as appropriate, including case management hearings, options hearings and proofs
- Develop advocacy and litigation skills through court appearances and preparation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues on more complex matters
- Keep up to date with developments in personal injury law and firm‑wide services
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified solicitor (including NQ) with up to 3 years’ PQE, or a second‑year trainee seeking to reassign
- Interest in personal injury litigation, particularly road traffic accident claims
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to develop advocacy, drafting and court‑based skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time and workload effectively
- Proactive, motivated and keen to learn
- Good IT skills and ability to use online legal resources
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
